Acne is the most common skin disease of adolescence, affecting over 80% of teenagers (aged 13–18 years) at some point. With the high levels of air pollution and our modern way of life, we at Legends are finding that more and more young people are turning to IPL treatment for treating acne and the resulting scarring.

IPL is a drug free treatment and is wonderful for clearing an  annoying spot or boil.

We’ve had the pleasure of treating many young students before their matric dances, when looking good was essential.

We’re also producing remarkable results  for  those suffering from permanent acne. We have a number of young clients who are receiving great benefit from regular treatments.

Our  innovative and advanced IPL system filters light with the appropriate wavelength, the red pigment in the blood (haemoglobin), absorbs this light and heats up in the fine blood vessels that supply the sebaceous glands. This causes minor injury to the sebaceous glands, which decreases the overproduction of oil that leads to acne.

This solution to dealing with acne is easy and essentially painless.

It’s important to remember that acne is often caused by internal factors such as hormonal imbalance, stress and food allergies. Ideally, the treatment should be combined with methods to deal with the underlying problem in order to clear the acne permanently.
